Founded in 1992, Frontera Produce has long since outgrown its humble beginnings as a family-owned regional shipper. Carrying a year-round supply of fresh produce, Frontera now grows product in all major United States growing areas as well as Mexico, Central and South America. Over the last couple of years, Frontera has seen tremendous growth with a strategic focus on its import program. In 2004, the company formed Frontera Imports, based in Pompano Beach, Florida, to manage this growing area of the business. Since that time, Frontera has expanded its international growing operations to include all melons and tropicals.

Distribution and logistics remain a key focus for the company. Continually looking for ways to more efficiently meet the customers’ needs, management is focused on providing longer product shelf-life, just-in-time deliveries, and more extensive product lines. Working through the Port of Corpus Christi has given Frontera a centralized point of entrance for its offshore produce significantly reducing lead times for its coastal customers.
