Jim Steele - Chairman

After a corporate organizational restructure in July of 2007, Jim Steele, former president and thirty year industry veteran, is Chairman of Frontera Produce.

As the company’s founder, Jim has a fifteen year history of admirable leadership that has paved the way to the company’s success today starting from a domestic growth based operation to an international importing organization. As the Chairman, Jim will provide strategic vision for the continued growth and direction of the company.

Prior to founding Frontera Produce, Jim built his career working in packaging sales for Weyerhaeuser. Throughout his tenure, Steele built key relationships with growers in the South Central regions of the United States and Mexico. In 1992, Jim turned his valuable relationship building skills into Frontera Produce, a small business headquartered in Edinburg, Texas.

Jim has served as the Texas Produce Association President as well as numerous committees. He is currently on an international committee for trade, founded by a cooperation between The University of Texas and the University of Vera Cruz. Most recently, Steele served on a committee as one of the representatives for the supplier/importer community representative for PMA Canada.
