Frontera Produce Taps Gonzalez to Lead Melon Sales
EDINBURGH, TEXAS -- August 14, 2006
(Edinburgh, TX) - Frontera Produce, LTD is proud to announce the addition of Javier Gonzalez to their Florida Division, responsible for leading the company’s Melon Sales. Javier comes to Frontera with over 10 years experience in the import produce industry having held key sales and operation positions with Fresh Delmonte , Central American Produce, Chestnut Hill Farms and Mearsk Sealand. In this role, Javier will be instrumental in helping to manage and grow year round melon sales through existing customers as well as help establish national sales for the entire company product mix. Javier will be based out of the Florida office and resides in Miami with his wife and two children.
Frontera Produce, LTD opened its Florida import office in the fall of 2004 and has since experienced steady growth. The company imports mangos from Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala; Sweet Onions from Peru and will begin its second season in the off shore cantaloupe and honeydew program this coming November. The company will import in excess of three million boxes of melons from Guatemala with weekly vessel calls into the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas. “We are extremely pleased with the steady growth of our Florida division”, said Will Steele, Vice President of Frontera Produce, LTD. “We are equally proud to have someone with Javier’s experience lead our melon program”, he added.
