Frontera Produce’s RFID Shipments a Success
EDINBURG, TEXAS -- December 18, 2006

(Edinburg, TX) –Frontera Produce, LTD, announces they have had repeat success with shipments of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) enabled product. This goal to be EPC Global Compliant was first achieved in October with a 100% read at the receiving end, on all tags on their initial test shipment of pineapples into a Cleburne, Texas distribution center. All subsequent shipments of pineapples into this DC continue to be tagged have also been successfully tracked through the system.

Frontera has spent the last two years researching and preparing for this endeavor. “Many man hours have been invested in this project and we are thrilled to see everyone’s hard work pay off. We believe deeply in the value of this technology not only to the industry but more specifically to the consumer as we continue to focus on all food safety initiatives,” said Will Steele, President.

Frontera’s long-term goal for this initiative is to develop a fully-integrated system that assimilates their RFID data into their warehouse management system. They have partnered with FAMOUS Software, LLC to develop the application that will make this possible.
