Ingredients:
For the onions:
1 sweet onion
1 tablespoon canola oil
¼ cup balsamic vinegar

For the sandwich:
A loaf of your favorite sourdough bread
1 lb roasted sliced turkey breast
1 head red leaf lettuce
2 hot house tomatoes |
Directions:
- Peel and clean onion, julienne or slice thin
- Using a medium sized sauté pan, sauté onion until golden brown (low temperature for 45 minutes)
- Deglaze the sauté pan with balsamic vinegar, reduce until glazed, cool
- Toast sourdough bread on a grill creating nice cross marks for presentation
- Dress the bread with your favorite spreads and assemble as you desire
- Add caramelized onions as a layer in this sandwich to make it unforgettable
