Flank Steak with Caramelized Sweet Onion
Ingredients:
1 sweet onion
¼ cup canola oil
2 lbs flank steak
Salt
Pepper |

Directions:
- Peel and slice sweet onion.
- Heat medium sized sauté pan to medium heat, add canola oil and sauté onion for 45 minutes until brown and caramelized (careful not to burn onions!)
- Heat a grilling surface to its hottest temperature
- Season flank steak with salt and pepper (you can use your favorite marinade if you choose)
- 10 minutes before the onions are finished, place the meat on the grill
- Depending on the thickness, it should take about 5 minutes per side of beef to cook medium rare
- Remove meat from grill, cover with foil, and let rest for 5-10 minutes 8. Slice meat thin and present on a platter, smother the surface with caramelized sweet onions
